“King Arthur Sword” is an Animated Screensaver by EleFun Multimedia devoted to the legends.
The legends say that in the far fifth century the King Uter lived in Britain and ruled it. He did not have any heirs and when he felt that the time when he would have to leave this world and to repose his power was approaching, the King appointed Merlin — a wiseman, the only one person whom Uter trusted completely — to decide the fate of Britain. Due to Merlin’s magic power, a stone with a sword inserted in it appears in the centre of the kingdom. The stone contained an epigraph which stated that the King of Britain would be the person who would manage to take the sword out of the stone. Then the legends said that many knights tried to gain the King’s place. But no one managed to do that and the knights capitulated one after another.
A young boy of seventeen named Arthur managed to take the sword out of the stone. At that moment the boy was only a varlet of his named brother Kay.
With this sword Arthur was blessed for fair reign, the blessing was given by Merlin himself. In the person of Arthur Britain received a wise and fair ruler.
